Our origins

A storyteller behind the lens.

Opal Photo Studio was founded in 2025 by Heena Khandheriya, a self-taught photographer who grew up in India and fell in love with capturing the energy of streets, markets, and people.

What started as a one-man operation out of a rented apartment has grown into a full-service studio with a team of five, a 120m² dedicated studio space in Kinshasa, and clients ranging from local families to international NGOs and brands.
